Is Rogaine Foam now worth using?

Hi, I haven't posted on here in a while and i find myself reading these threads getting very angry, especially The article about the ineffectiveness of Rogaine Foam etc, which has left me crest fallen. Since the foam has been the only version of minoxidal to not aggravate my scalp and since my doctor confirmed i had genuinely suffered from propecia side effects. I trusted the rogaine brand as the doctor recommended it, but now i feel like i'm in the grips of another Snake oil salesman

Me
As of yet i have no personal evidence that it works i'm currently 11-12 weeks into treatment using twice daily applications of the foam. I'm using the foam primarily for the temple regions and maintenance. Past two weeks i feel as if i have lost a lot of hair on the temple, however i don't find great swathes of hair left anywhere and as i look at my hair so often i have no idea if i am losing more or not. Hopefully this is what is often described as a shed, slightly worried its come 3 months in.

Therefore can someone please tell me whether there is any benefit to me continuing to use Rogaine foam 5%?

Might as well continue until 6 months since you cannot use the liquid. If nothing by then toss it in the garbage like I did. Good luck.

Just read the clinical trials data, its been posted all over this forum. If you are able to use the liquid this would be your best option of growing hair, if you have a problem with it, then use the foam, its better than nothing. Don't pay attention to testimonials and pictures, most of them are bogus.

ROGAINE FOAM IS JUST A MARKETING HOOK to increase the sales that have been dwindling over the years to the other generic brands which are much cheaper.

I have used minoxidil in one form or another for 10 years now. Originally as Rogaine brand then as generics, but kept going back to the brand name since it worked better, always lost a bit on the generics, maybe it was just in my head. I finally went over to the foam when it came out. I really loved the stuff and it made my hair look fuller when I applied it.

Now the problem... I started shedding. At first I thought this was good and I would end up even better than before, but it gradually continued to the point I was thinner than I was before I started minoxidil. This was not just a shed, it was the loss of hair the liquid was keeping. In total I stayed on this for 13 months.

I have since switched back to Rogaine liquid since Sept 2007, I now have just about all my hair back, not quite but at least 90%. More than likely I have lost some that will not ever be recovered because of the foam crap. If I had seen the results of the clinical trials I would never have used it. Be smart check the numbers first and don't fight your brain, you are the one who ends up losing.

PS...don't believe anyones testimontal, including mine. Lots of paid posters on the web pushing snake oil. Do the research, check the numbers then decide, you are the one who loses if you make a mistake.
