Hi I am minoxidil for the past one month. I have started using Nizoral shampoo for the one week. I just want to know whether Nizoral is DHT inhibitor or is just used to control. Do I need switch to revivogen to control DHT. I am not interested in starting with propecia as I am afraid of its side affects.

Can any one help me with this issue

seriously bud, I know that the potential sides of finasteride are scary, but you NEED to understand that they affect less than 2% of men. I think that many of the reported cases (and people freaking out on boards like this) are purely people's minds playing tricks on them. Additionally, it has been proven that even if you are one of the VERY FEW who experience sides, simply stopping the medication will make them dissappear. I can't understand when people have such intense fear of this drug. It's benefits far outweigh the miniscule risks, in my opinion.

You NEED a good DHT inhibitor and finasterides ability to do this is far better than any topical and is far more widely proven.

You may grow some hair with minoxidil, but you'll still be losing hair without finasteride.

no one can tell you that you for a fact that you can reduce the effect of DHT on your scalp using Revivogen but it may help you - it may also help if you use spironolactone 5% lotion or 2% liquid. If you want to know more about these products check the main site or search the forums - lots of useful info on there.

Nizoral does provide some DHT blocking abilities of its own so its best to stick with it whatever treatments you end up using.

I don't understand people's fears either. A person's biology is pretty damn tough and adaptable. preach on!
