Is My Hairline Receeding Or Just Mature? Suggestions For Action

Hi,

19 years old, good health.

Hairline is quite far back in the corners, have always had a widows peak (which barber normally trims when shaping up). No hairloss at the crown. Hair shedding is noticeable but average.

My hairline has been like this from the age of 15/16 (see first two pics) and I have managed to mask this by growing my hair slightly longer. Obviously recession will make this difficult, is there any treatment (menodoxil i believe it's called?) to maintain my hairline as it is now (see final two pics), or is my concern unnecessary?

Fathers hairline good, slightly mature.
One Grandfather bald (with hair on sides) and other kept hair throughout his life.
Most of my Uncles have lost their hair.

I accept that I'll probably end up shaving my hair off in the next 5 years, just wanted to find out how long I have and if there's anything I can do.

It's always hard for me to tell with black hair for whatever reason. That being said, I'm going to guess yes? That hair cut makes your hair look full, but i believe that's because your barber cut off the part that indicates recession.

Take a look into finasteride and minoxidil (rogaine). In fact, check out the website Hims. You need a prescription to get finasteride, but they can probably hook you up, depending what state you are in. Good luck!

(btw, your hair looks full, even with the minor temple recession, so don't sweat your appearance at all)

double check with a derm as well, don't jump on finasteride without doctor approval! I'm just some dork on the internet
