I'm 13 and i really want to know if my hairline is receding. my dad has a really bad hairline that recedes really far back but i want to know if mines is or if i can do anything to stop it. i kinda of have a widows peak hairline and i part my hair on the right side so that it goes to the left. it looks like it's thinning at the temple and i also have a piece of hair on my hairline that goes the opposite way compared to the rest of my hair. and i also need to note that it often feels like someone is lightly pulling my hair at the corner of the right side of my hairline. PLEASE HELP.

My only advice at this point would be shave it and get used to it. That's insanely advanced for 13 and I doubt you'll save it.
Go BBC. Bald By Choice.

Idk it could just be a widows peak or the way you are holding back your hair.

Hard to tell really

what age did you start puberty? Its really hard to tell, that could be your natural hairline.

13 is way too young :/ Was it always like this or have you only noticed it recently? What do older pics show?

That's probably your natural hairline, you're 13. Hair loss does not occur in 13 year olds. If most women were to pull their hair back, most people on this board would suggest that they are receding/balding.

You're fine.

Looked at all the pictures. The top left one looks solid, the hairline is straight.

Everybody usually has thinner hair on the temples. Even females have that. That's completely normal.

The hair spreads out as our skulls grow, which usually they stop growing around twelve.

In theory, it is possible to bald as soon as we hit puberty.

That said, certain ethnic backgrounds have thicker hair strands, but less hair density than others. And
their hair usually grows faster.

I'll PM you this information.

Would not worry about it, I really don't think you are balding at 13. In theory, it's possible after puberty.

That said, 13 is too young, in my opinion, to start Finasteride. You still have your secondary male
characteristics at puberty. And anything you take that will disrupt it could have PERMANENT EFFECTS
on secondary male characteristics (facial hair, deeper voice).

There's nothing normal about that hairline. I'm not saying it's male pattern baldness, but there's hair loss and miniaturization happening there. It's clear as day that something is up.

It might appear that way. Certain ethnic backgrounds have thicker but less populated (dense)
follicles on their scalp.

That said, for men with a bigger head, the hair spreads out on the hairline.

Compare the top left with the bottom right. You'll see the difference. If anything, it's only one centimeter
above. It might just be a "mature" hairline.

That said, any anti DHT medication he takes, will ruin is secondary male characteristics. The production
of DHT is highest during puberty.

But without it, our muscles don't develop, our voice won't deepen, and we won't get facial hair.

His hairline actually is normal.

It's straight across.

Everybody has less hair on their temples. That in itself does NOT indicate recession.

it's important to note that. Even women have thinner hair in their temple area (MOST do).

This is because hair is less dense around the hairline, and top of the head (the skull grows
bigger). My daughter has the same thing. And she produces estrogen.

Though I agree he shouldn't take any anti DHT medication 100 percent, that's about all I agree with. That hairline isn't straight across and something is wrong. I'm susrpisrd you can even say that. Are we looking at the same pics? I don't think he would be posting here if that hairline was straight.

I think even on here there is a mixture of opinions. For the most part doctors (at least where i live) will shun most problems unless i am persistant and keep seeing them about it. However i would not panic but better to take a pic each month and keep tracking to see if there is any more receding and then you can act on it. But as othet posters said: a big NO to finasteride due to your age!

Lmao you're clearly overreacting, bro. Just because a few of your front hairs are smaller doesn't mean you're losing your hair. In fact, my sister has a small region of hair that never grows just like that. Right in the front of her head too. The rest of your hair looks quite thick and luscious. If you're really worry about losing hair, just keep an eye on how many you lose while showering. That should give you a good idea.

Buddy don't worry at all your hair is absolutely fine. You don't need to do anything. Really. I would walk away from this site. Don't take anything. If you actually start to lose hair in like 7/8 years come back to the form and there will probably be a good treatment then. For now your golden.
