Hi,
I’ve been noticing my hair these days whether My hair is thinning or not and today I applied oil as usual in which unusually I was able to see my scalp, both my mother and father have amazing hair growth and yes even my grand parents even at their very end (100) had head full of hair, however I’m the first person to get my hair receding in sides. This made me to comb my hair and check every time when I go out and come back home... I comb continuously around 2 hours which makes my scalp burn... I know it is bad yet I’m not satisfied with the result whether I’m going bald or is it just my mind.
I’ve uploaded few pics of before and now(Oil hair)
My age is 21
First few images are taken after applying oil.

Last image was taken on January of this year when I had long hair

I think you should see your doctor and just get some blood tests done, also maybe a derm. But it doesn't look like you have any hairloss, your hair looks alot like mine, and I used to do exactly what you are doing, over combing and brushing it. I think we are doing more harm that good because constant tension to the point your scalp burns can't be helping. But no your not going bald ever apparently with the family history you say you have....

Yes man, I thought the same too... I’ve decided not to comb from now and just let my hair dry using hairdryer (cold air)... I’ll just use my fingers.

Smart move, I sometimes use a blow-dryer on cold also, I don't towel dry my hair, and it's getting long, not as long as yours yet but it takes forever to dry and feels thick and full dry not so much damp or wet.

Also get you a contour hair wet/dry hair brush. They have wide teeth unlike a comb which is very tight teeth that will snagg and pull hair out. I brush my hair with a hair brush that won't snagg and ads volume then I comb once it's dry and the same direction I brushed and never pull hairs out...

Thanx for the tips mate! I’ll continue with what you said and I hope I’ll get back my thickness, I just feel that I’ll get back my thickness if I stop combing harshly.

I would also recommend to see your doctor and get blood tests. Please update us later about test results.

Good definitely stop combing harshly, also eat better foods too lots of Greek yogurt a, peanutbutter, walnuts, salmon and GRILLED chicken. All good to keep hair healthy. But you should also see your doctor and get tests to make sure your thyroid and blood are good. Hope the best for you man keep us updated.

Also might be worth cutting your hair down to atleast a 2 so you can clearly look for diffusion or miniaturization, it'll also help you from combing your hair all the time.

Sure man, I’m actually a fitness freak... I’ve been following diet for 2 months and my body is perfectly shaped and muscular (Physique category)
I just have a doubt, should I go to dermatologist and get blood test or just go to a normal blood test lab and get the results?

I'd say go to your primary doctor if you have one, like family doctor. Tell em you just want to have blood panel and hormones and thyroid checked. They'll know what to do, if you have insurance might not cost much if you don't pay for it, your health is more important than money ..

I do not worry about spending when it comes to health, and yes I’ll make sure to check and update the result here... Thanks for the guidance mate.

I just called a lab for check up, they advised me to get prescriptions from doctor... They were questioning about which result do I need. I asked them for blood test including Thyroid and hormones test but they gave me certain options from each category i.e there are different thyroids and other stuffs which I really don’t understand:p . Should I go to a derm and ask them? Or should I just get all results.

Yeah, I mean you just need to tell them that you want to make sure you don't have and under or overly hyper thyroid. I think a regular physician would know what you mean rather than some derm.

Stop smearing so much wax and semen on your hair, then maybe it wouldnt look like its thinning.

Dude, are you using concrete to style? Good Lord, the build up and the amount of effort it takes to clean it off will hurt your scalp and hair more than any comb will. You don’t have hair loss, you’re not thinning, and you don’t need finasteride.

Take it easy with the product, stop combing for 2 f*****g hours and you’ll be fine. Nobody can pull on their hair like that and not have some of it come out. It’s like scratching a scab off repeatedly, noticing discoloration/scarring and thinking there’s something wrong with your skin.
