Is My Hair Receding At 16 (with Pics)

I'm 16 years old and recently I have been noticing some changes in my hairline. It used to be straight but now it's taking on a slight U shape. The hairs started regrowing after a couple of months but as they are much shorter I can see the U shape starting to come through

I'm not sure if it is receding but I don't think it should be my grandpa has basically a full head of hair other than some slight thinning that became notable at around 50

And my dad has no hairloss but has had a very curved hairline for as long as I can remember (similar to his dad)

I'd lean towards no.. there is little to no noticeable loss and I don't see any miniaturized hairs. At your age, the chances are fairly low so I wouldn't worry about it. Your hair looks perfectly normal as is. Enjoy being young.

Do you know why I may have lost hair on one side that regrew? I don't know how testosterone etc effects it but I did notice a big increase in body hair in the time that that the hair fell out plus I grew a lot more facial hair

It is hard to say, I didn't really pay attention to my hairline until 20 so I don't remember if there was slight recession or not. Perhaps with the increase in hormones your juvenile hairline is maturing a bit. There is no concrete answer, but again, this is a non-issue for you right now. Just live your life and forget about it. Save tomorrow's worries for tomorrow.
