Is My Hair Loss Bad For 18 And Am I In Advanced Stages Of Balding?

hi all. id like to know what norwood level i am and if there’s any hope for me to regrow my once great hair.

Yea that's pretty bad hair loss for 18. You are about a NW2.5 not far off of a NW3.. You could try finasteride and see if that helps you at least maintain your hair. Regrowth is rare contrary to what others will have you believe. I'm on a regimen far harder than just finasteride and my balding hasn't even slowed down at all. Your first step should definitely be finasteride, and after about a year maybe consider minoxidil if you can handle the commitment, because its a lifetime one. Other treatments can be considered only once you've been on the conventional ones for at least a year.

Definitely not. Maybe you can keep what you have and get a hair transplant to fill in your bald spots.

Plenty of people regrow on Finasteride and Minoxidil...in fact MOST people do. You are definitely not advanced balding.

thanks for the reply! this may seem like a dumb question. but would getting a haircut affect the progress of my treatment? and also how long do you think it would take me to regrow my temples?

That is not true. Most people can expect to grow hair on these treatments. Of course not everyone will. AnxiousAndy, who I have nothing against, is bitter but by no means should be saying the temples won't grow to someone who is 18.

Absolutely agree i started regrowing my temples slowly because of finasteride and minoxidil.

That Looks like my hairline about 6 months ago, if you really care to save it, jump on finasteride, if you dont have side effects from finasteride then you could move on to dutasteride which is 100x better at growing the hair back to terminal hair in my own experience, or if you just dont give a damn about sexual side effects like me then go for dutasteride, (still no side effects for me though)

Duta at the young age of 18 probably won't be the best move though, in my opinion. I think finasteride will be just fine

My hair IS still falling out in buckets, you're not me so you can't say for sure it isn't. I'm not negative about treatments, I probably advocate them more than anybody else on this forum.. I'm just bitter that nothing is working for me, even on a nuclear regimen. Most people don't regrow, its bullshit. Some do, but definitely not most.
