Is my crown going thin?

Super paranoid about my crown now suddenly as I feel it’s maybe starting to thin or just a Cowlick ? Last pic is from December before I hopped on finasteride, I think finasteride thinned my hair out so bad, I quit the drug back in April due to minor gyno.

Have you tried pics in different lighting? It could be the lighting shining on your cowlick. If it is balding, would you be willing to try to microdose finasteride and just drip some minoxidil on your crown?

yeah it looks worse in daylight i think, I might hop back on finasteride but 3x a week 1mg should be cheap insurance.

No, wouldn’t have the patience of applying that stuff daily. I feel like finasteride monotherapy should be enough or just starting with that would be best. Do you think im

Personally I think its the lighting

Keep an eye on it, but do you notice the ring of light reflecting around your cowlick in the picture? That shows there's a light shining down on it. Your cowlick is going in different directions so it makes a bit of a part. If it was diffuse, the center spot usually would be wider. This is coming from me obsessing over my crown for years and reading tons of "is my crown thinning posts". Hopefully someone else chimes in but im sure you aren't balding.

no ill use it, I just don't think I'm balding just yet. I just confirmed with a trichologist, going to wait 6 months and see if it gets worse

If I was you I would start using finasteride, because one is side is thinning, and the other is beginning to get thin.

His crown is completely normal at this stage. Mine has been like that my entire life. Dark hair against light skin plus straight hair will display scalp where thr hair naturally changes direction. You can even see it on the scalp of a child. The surrounding hair is thick, healthy & dense. Great head of hair.

Hey man in 6 months ill see if there is any changes. And if there is I will hop back on finasteride, either way I'm glad I'm catching it early in the game as it seems to be very miniscule if there is any loss,
