Is Minoxodil actually not worth it? (Relates to an article)

This is an article written by a user on here:

"Your hair grows in cycles. Hair grows, falls out (yes, even on a non-balding head), and then goes dormant for a period of time before starting to grow again. Rogaine works by stimulating dormant hair follicles, effectively forcing them into action. This gives the illusion that you are growing new hair, when actually all you are doing is growing more of your hair that is already there.

When you are going bald, hairs reach shorter and shorter lengths before they fall out. Eventually, the hair is so small and thin, you can’t see it. Rogaine does nothing to stop this process. It does nothing to stop the root cause of baldness.

Rogaine is a temporary fix. It will not stop you from going bald. It will merely drag out the process."

My question is...is Minoxidil really this ineffective? Does it not prolong the process of balding much?

I've used the 2% for 6-8 months and haven't seen results so am curious if it is worth it at all.

If that in the bold is true, then that is good enough for me.

Also, you have to understand minoxidil is not a miracle treatment. It's not gonna make you grow hair like a chia pet. But it will support your hair loss especially when you use both finasteride and minoxidil.

Rogaine is not a cure for baldness, but it can make your hair look thicker for years. It gave me a perfect hairline in college. Sure, now all that hair is gone, but how can having a great hairline during 4 of your best years not be worth it? It was worth it to me. It just depends how you look at it.

I agree that it probably doesn't interfere with the fundamental balding process. For that reason, I think it's a bad idea to use topical minoxidil alone. Always use it together with something like Propecia, which _does_ interfere with the fundamental balding process.
