can u shed from minoxidil even on parts where u didnt apply the minoxidil?

I only apply it on my hairline but after 5 months my entire hair is thinner even though minoxidil never touches anywhere else. Also i do plan on getting on finasteride but im okay with receding slowly for years and then going bald in my late 30s or early 40s and \i was hoping \i could do that with only rogaine. If this recent loss of hair is due to my balding on is not caused by rogaine shed then I have no choice but to go on finasteride anyways as im not tryna be full bald in my 20s.

Yes, it's possible to shed even on parts where you don't apply minoxidil.

Minoxidil goes systemic and some studies show that it's more than we expected. People who use minoxidil for beard growth for example also experience shedding of their hair.

But without antiandrogen ( Finasteride etc... ) you are actually doing nothing about your hair loss. Some sort of antiandrogen is necessary if you want to keep your hair long-term.

I’m 3 months on minoxidil. I too experienced excess shedding but it has subsided. Also appeared to make crown lose more at first but that’s because we are so fixated on our hair line we often don’t take much stock in the crown if we are ok there. After initial shedding in crown it’s filling in thicker then it was before hand. Minoxidil only fucks you up if you stop using it after you start . It’s a lifetime subscription

Yes unfortunately Minoxidil sheds (and from what some people say, Finasteride sheds) are quite scary. It was like when I took Accutane, it may my acne at least three times worse. It was terrible and people constantly stared at me but it eventually obliterated the acne...you just need to allow the treatment to work.

Yep just like lifting weights. When you are sore you don’t feel stronger but it’s the process
