Is minoxidil 5% 1x per day enough for regrowth?

I just started my regimen...

minx 5% 1x daily
finasteride 1x daily
nizoral equiv 3 x weekly


I am looking for regrowth, in the areas I still have hair. Should I be using minoxidil 5% twice daily to see significant regrowth? I noticed rogaine says to use it twice daily, I'm getting paranoid 1x daily isn't enough?

As a general rule of thumb...1x a day is good for maintenance, 2x a day for regrowth. However this is just for the average idiot. The exceptional idiot (such as me) however, needs to pretty much bathe in the sh*t. I recommend 2x a day for any results.

I am ultra paranoid about applying it. It's obvioiusly fine in the front where i have hardly any hair, but in the back im worried im not getting it into the scalp, even though i give it a good rub in. I hope I respond well, then I want to go with 15% at night, 5x daily

haha, indeed I did.

So far I'm really impressed with minoxidil, and I hope the fact that it doesn't irritate me or give me any side effects means I will see good results in terms of regrowth. Isn't minoxidil supposed to grow hair, I mean that was it's side effect. With propecia I expect maintenence, but with minoxidil I expect regrowth, not just further maintaining. I think now that I know minoxidil doesn't fux with me, I will upgrade to the Xandrox. Can't hurt to have another dht fighter on the list of treatments.

I achieved good regrowth through using it once a day at night, applying 2ml oppose to 1ml for complete coverage...

Relax, where is it going to go?

Been using it for many years. A simple rub should suffice.

Dr. Lee is using the sprayer an effective form of applying Xandrox or minoxidil.

Dr. Lee: Xandrox is effective as long you put it on your head.

He is not overly concerned with the application type just the fact that it is used consistently every day.

It's really too bad this stuff isn't in a shampoo form. Would make it a lot easier to work into your daily routine.

You are correct. I guess I am just worried about it getting in my hair, and not absorbing into my scalp. I see products like derma roller, or that one from spencer forest, and they make it seem like most of the topicals are being wasted, and unabsorbed. I take this as blatent propoganda, however being a newb to this, I want to make sure im not wasting my time/ money, and degrading results. As for the sprayer, I tried that... However it seems even less effective in areas I have hair, as opposed to the dropper. At least with the dropper, I can get it dropped right onto the scalp, and rub it in. With the sprayer it feels like hairspray, and even more difficult to get into the scalp.

Been using 1x daily in the evenings. I have achieved some regrowth on the crown and temples. I am thinking of going to 2x daily for the optimal results with the next year on minoxidil. Hope it goes well.
