You guys judge the head of hair of other grown men? Is this considered entertainment or does it just make you feel better about yourself? I feel for ya all about this male pattern baldness thing but it seems very childish to have two page thread about whether or not someone is balding. WHo cares.....

darkly you can clearly see that his hair was not in good shape, and I highly doubt that in just 2 months time his hair can go from not so good to what it looks like on the cover by hair transplant unless he has had some incredable regrowth from somewhere. It is however quite easy for him to slap a run on and he can wear that while running and exercising, look at Sean Conery (sp) he has admitted to having a rug for years and all the stuff that he does in movie we have never seen his rug come off and if it did we still would not see it. The bowl pictures do not lie because they were much more candid, now magazines on the other hand is different because he probably had his rug on. I am not saying that he did not have a transplant but it def has not grown in like the cover of Mens Health would have you believe.

Is Mel really that far gone?

I heard he has had transplants.I was interested in getting a transplant and thought a doctor who caters to celebrities should be better than the rest. At a party in LA a Dr Marina Oustinova told me that she had done the transplants on Mel Gibson and Frank Stallone,Sylvester's brother in The Zering Clinic. I was surprised she told me who her patients were and I called the Clinic to ask it was true and they said they can't give out that information. Is it well know what celebrities have had transplants and who their doctors are? Does anyone know if Gibson or Stallone had tranplants? I was going to have her do mine but it sounds fishy.

how can you be a fuckin mel gibson and not fuckin cover that sh*t up, i mean this b**ch takes millions of dollars from one movie, and a best hair transplant costs about 50,000 to cover whole head, and just take propecia and then he wont look like a fuckin bald in public ..... these rich b****s make me angry

POSSIBLE EXPLANATIONS:

1. It's entirely possible that he's beyond all that.

2. His karmic punishment for making The Passion

3. He had transplants, but used up all his donor hair, and now he's balding, and he hasn't enough donor hair to complete the job. (remember, his hairline was very, very low when he was young)

4. He suddenly has so much money, he's gone mad.

5. All the above.

6. None of the above.

I guess ya...it does. By having a celebrity go bald it basically makes us all accept our hairloss a little bit more, especially when a guy was "The Sexiest Man of The Year" at one point. It also makes people who are not balding accept bald/thinning people to not make fun of them ie "hey Mel is balding, and he is still cool so must be ok ect" Get my point?

Hey if we were not concerned about it....we would not waste our time on this forum.

You answered you own question, he can do that because he is Mel Gibson and he is part of Hollywood's A List, he's put in his dues and doesn't need to look a certain way off camera to get parts because his name alone can sell the movie. As long as he looks good on camera that's all that matters anymore, but with the success of POTC he doesn't even need to act anymore, he can just sit back and direct, produce, etc. and still be on Hollywood's A List.

If anything I commend him for not hiding his and other male actors for not hiding their hair loss in their personal lives, it shows everyone how anyone can be made up to look like a movie star.

its just not looking, its feeling thick head of hair instead of thinning crap, if i was him i would live so good with thick hair and try to look my best, but he looks like a average joe on camera, who gives ashit about his name if he doesnt know how to take care of himself

Hate to tell you this but celebs don't walk around in their personal life as if they are going to an awards show, photo shoot or are in a movie. If you ever see some of these celebs just out doing run of the mill stuff they don't look like they did when they were going to the Oscars, in fact a lot of them look average or in some cases worse than the normal person. Shocking isn't it?

Its my opinion that a REAL MAN pays no attention to celebrities such as movie stars and singers in their capacity as "celebrities".

A real man leaves that to women.

This culture of obsessing over celebrities makes my stomach turn. The day I start worrying about some f*****g celebrities hair line will be the day I realise how empty my life is.

Just my 2 cents.

re:

Men go bald and Gibson and hundreds of other celebs are going bald, they just cover it up for their movies. "Why does Gibson not cover it up" well he has the self esteem, confidence and maturity to accept that his hair does not define him. This should be all of our focus first and secondly we should do what we think it best for us as an individual (propecia, minoxidil, shampoos, all natural or nothing). Everyone on this board needs to understand that first and formost this is a nutural biological condition that we cannot control and it is only hollywood and society that for some reason makes us believe that we are somehow "freaks" and almost like we did something wrong. Gain some perspective, be positive, enjoy life and try to see if you can spend some of your extra time and money to improve the look of you hair in the mean time. I am dealing with the same insecurities as everyone else on this forum and am battling all these emotions by reminding myself that I cannot accept being defined by my balding head, I hope the rest of you can do the same.

i'd expect to be going at least a little bald at that age. wouldn't be too concerned about it at all if I was mel. he is incredibly rich as well. i think i could find something to take my mind off it if i had that sort of money.

Mel Gibson has been an avid user of Toppik and Couvre for quite some time now.

Mel Gibson just doesnt care thats it..if he has a hair transplant then why does he still look bald..with docs like COle,Hasson, Armani etc ..there no reason being hes a multi millionare couldnt have that fixed..
or at least speand some money tohelp find a cure..
but remember Mel is a very religious man and so for that reason his spirtuality is more important than some hair..plus hes 49..hes not young anymore..u guys do realize this right?
also in regards to him wearing toppik its probably for the movies not for himself..
he has alot of cxhildren and a wife..hes not some playboy hollywood gtuy anymore..
people age get over it..its just 20 something with bad hair..who are getting the crap end of the deal cause were young and being judged due to that..and i blame hollywood and the corporate advertising culture for alot this
