Is It Vital To Shampoo A New Unit Fresh Out Of The Box?

I've been doing to it out of habit & I'd rather not, having noted over the course of several months how taxing shampoo is on a system and its hair.

Is wiping the a base - in this case French Lace - with alcohol sufficient to get tape to stick?

I say it's important for many reasons. One hygiene wise.... That's somebody's hair from their body in another country.......And also for adhesion
