Is it time for me to throw in the towel?

Hi everyone. I guess I'll go through the timeline first. I've been showing signs of balding probably since around the start of being 20 as a diffuse thinner. Once it finally started hitting me i thought about treating it by using hair thickening shampoos. Obviously none of those worked. I had trouble believing I was balding because my mom told me there was no balding on her side of the family and as far as she knew no one on my dads side(I havent lived with him for years). She even said the last time she saw him in his early 30's, his hair was fine. After researching all possible reasons for hair loss I convinced myself it was probably Telogen Effiuvium only because one cause of it was iron deficiency that I appeared to have and turns out I did after getting blood work done. So I started taking iron supplements for a couple months hoping once my iron levels get back up then my hair would start regrowing. Good news was my iron levels finally were normal after about 3 months or so but my hair was still thinning out.

So then I finally gave some thought about using minoxidil after being highly against it because of having to use it twice a day forever and needing to have it in for 3-4 hours. So last May I gave in and decided to try it but I used lipogaine because of the other ingredients used to block dht and I used nizoral. So i used that for 8 months and nothing...no shedding, no hair thickening, no regrowth, no side effects. So my motivation to keep using it died. So i thought maybe my hair just isn't reacting well with all of that stuff mixed together so I decided to just try a basic kirkland minoxidil. I've only been using it for a month but still not even any shedding..so im already losing hope with that.

I read an article the other day that minoxidil only works in about 38% of people and that you need an active enzyme called sulfotranferase for minoxidil to respond and work. Is there anyway I can get tested to see if I have enough of that in my body or should i just accept I probably dont? So back to my original question, is it time for me to throw in the towel and eventually go bald? or is there anything I can try that has a likely chance to work for me? before anyone recommends propecia i'll just say now I dont think ill use that because of that potential sexual side effects. Ill also post picture of my hair if you wanna see where im at.
