Is It Time For A Transplant Or Should I Try Other Methods First? (picture)

I'm 36, been using Rogaine for 10 years, had 800 grafts in the front 8 years ago. I was managing it with Toppik till recently but now I can't go anywhere without a hat. Should I go ahead and get a full hair transplant or are any of the non-surgical methods on the market effective enough to help with my thinning areas where the hairs are really short and thin? Curious if things like PRP or microneedling would help in my case or just snake oil. I took propecia a while back but didn't like the side effects.

If you don't want to take finasteride (propecia), there is not much left; Maybe Ru, which is in my opinion even riskier;

But to be honest, I am not even sure if you will get a satisfying result with a hair transplant, as your hair loss will most likely progress over the years without proper treatment (Ru, finasteride, dutasteride) and then it will look weird; Maybe you should go for a toupee?

I doubt everyone who has had a transplant is taking those meds. A toupee would get smelly/itchy every few days wouldn't it? Seems like too much maintenance to have to wash it and glue it back on every few days. Or everyday if you workout.

It always depends on what you wish to have - I can see your hair loss progressing to a Norwood 6 in the next 10 years without proper medication(which of course does not necessarily need to happen); And then, having Norwood 6 it is kind of obvious that you will not be able to achieve a dense look with just this few hair left, distributing it all over your scalp;

With a toupee, you could; So it is always a question where you want to go... If you are interested about how toupees look like, you can e.g. search for Heydecke on youtube;
