Is it strange to lose hair here??

I'm really confused :dunno:
For quite a while hair seems to fall around the back of my head and around my ears, and the hairs that come out are not thin, they're thick :S

I don't lose much hair around the crown or hairline just around my ears. If I run my hands through 5 hairs come out and if I keep doing it more and more come out. Does anyone know why I'm losing hair around those areas?

:dunno: ....maybe you are obsessing too much with the rubbing and running your hands through your hair and actually causing the hair to fall out on your own....is the hair in that area less dense-looking? If not why are you worried...you said your hairline and crown are good (male pattern baldness areas :woot: ), good for you. Could be hair at the end of the cycle falling out and it just appears it is coming from those areas because for some reason, they are the areas you are focusing on.

Could be seborrheic dermatitis, are those areas itching alot?

Doubt you have anything to worry about....

I am thinning at the top though, but if I just tug my hair at the hairline or near the crown none falls out . When my hair is soaking wet I can comb through my hair with little hair coming out. It is so strange :dunno:

I'll have to research in it a bit more, but I have male pattern baldness history from both sides of the family so I'm expecting to experience it sooner or later...

I think I can say the same NAT.

I have male pattern baldness as well...but yes I can pull hairs from above my sideburn area plus bottom back of head easier than anywhere else on head.
