Is It Shedding Or Just Continued Hair Loss?

I've been on finasteridw 1mg for a little more than four months now. According to most sources the shedding caused by the meds should slow down by the 4 months mark, which I thought was happening to me a few weeks agi. Starting this week however I noticed a ridiculous increase in loss. I only need to slide my fingers through my hair to have a dozen strands fall out, and I can do this as many times as I want. Thr thing is that these aren't just the shorter, thinner hairs that one should expect to fall out during a fina shed, but longer, thicker strands.

My question is, is there a way to determine whether it's a shed caused by the meds or just continued regular hair loss?

I noticed an increased shed too. Like you say. All of a sudden... Anyone here would give the same advice... "Stick to your routine"... Otherwise... Why stop? You'll be bald for sure, right? Plus a lot of others have already gone through the same (shedding).

Hi! I'm new to the community and I'm bumbling my way around but I saw your post on shedding. I'm not on medication but I totally relate! I started losing handfuls of hair in my 20's and resigned myself to thin, fine hair. About 2 months ago I accidentally found a natural based shampoo & conditioner and crazy enough my shedding has drastically reduced and I've got new hair growing like crazy, most obvious in my thinning areas. Anyway, I thought I'd share.
Good luck.

Wow, a shampoo that stops hair fall. Can you provide me with a name of the product and where I can order it from?
