Hello guys im balding since i was a 16 now im almost 19
that's how my hair looks like, my father and my uncles went completly bald at their 20s
I started putting minoxidle at my temples but I don't really like it
and I don't think it's cutting the problem from it's root
I wanted to take finastride and went for a doctor but he just told me to keep putting minoxidle
cause the side effects of finastride and I kept putting minoxidle but im still balding
I want to take finastride but I don't have enough time to go for another doctor and ask him for finastride cause of studying
so can I take finastride on my own? and what's best dosage for me?
and I've seen doctor saying that using finastride for a long time will decrease the size of your testicles is it true? View attachment 110698

Always best to get doctors approval but if you can't then i see no reason to not just take the situation into your own hands, im on dutasteride without doctors approval. Good luck.

Great for you bud! wish you best of success with it! I've some questions wondering if you can help me
how long have you been taking it and did you notice any side effects so far? and did it maintain your hair? and do you take the 1mg dosage?

Just take 1mg , if you notice any sides and you are certain they are not placebo then you d better quit , cause you re only 19 and this is a lifelong commitment

Sexual side effects are a real possibility. I would start on a low dose like 0.5MG & see how you go.

At your age I would see a doctor or dermatologist to get their approval before starting anything. If your older like 21+ id say you can start it on your own if a doctor does not approve. Even then you still need a doctor or contact to turn to if something goes wrong, and propecia requires a doctor even prescribe it so you cant really do it on your own

quick update guys: I've bought finestride and been taking it for 4 days (1mg dosage)
And I've been using minoxidle for 6 months (twice daily 5%) before I took finastride
I've stopped minoxidle once I took finestride and didn't lose any hair yet
my hair actually getting thicker and no side effects
I know 4 days aren't enough to judge lol! I will do an update after 1 month here

why not keep up with the minoxidil? It's a completely different mechanism

I have my reasons that makes me willing to quit using minoxidle here it's if you willing to know about it!
1st it's gonna lose it's effect by the time
2nd I just putting on my temples so it only works on my temples but the other hair that I've will start to be thinning too by the time, it's a pattern im going to get!
3rd reason is it's really stressful thing to do twice daily and to stuck with!
4th reason is for example if you putted in the morning and willing to go out or something you cant cause it makes your hair looking so bad and alot thinner and you have to wait 2 hour or smth till it get dry on your scalp so you can wash it and style your hair.
5th reason I wasn't enjoying my life treating my hair with minoxidle cause the anxiety of losing the hair that you have.
6th not enjoying your hair you just put it twice and it ruins it, it's just i have hair but an ugly one that im not enjoying! I just wanna style my hair in the morning and just enjoy my day without putting something on it makes it look like sh*t and need to wait around 2 hour to wash it or smth.
7th the growth of it it made my hair line so ugly i wast just growing baby hair
here's also pictures showing before and after

imo if willing to get your hair back just get a hair transplant and get on finastride
if you are okay with the reasons i mentioned then go ahead and start using minoxidle
I had no side effects on minoxidle btw

I guess you were using minoxidil liquid. The foam is the opposite it dries instantly and it even makes you hair thicker!
Can't believe it's 2019 and people are still using the liquid.
