Is it possibly to lower testosterone production?

I know of chemical castration, but obviously that's really severe. I'm talking about a method where we lower testosterone levels 30 % or so, not 100 %. Would the same medications used for chemical castration work for that? This could help fight male pattern baldness because drugs like Dutasteride and Finasteride would have their power increased if less testosterone was actually getting to the follicles to be converted to DHT/activate the receptors. So I'm just wondering if there is any method to lower production of testosterone, or if it's an all or nothing sort of deal...

theres plenty of drugs out there you could take: oral spironolactone, oral keto, cyprtoterone acetate, flutamide, bicaltumide and so on. these drugs do come with a guarantee of shriveled nuts and a useless penis, though.

The thing is those drugs don't actually lower production, I don't think. spironolactone and Flutamide and bicalutamide block androgen receptors, but don't actually lower testosterone production, so there's almost no point in using those systemically. You'd be better off using them topically. I know keto inhibits production but last I checked it wasn't a significant amount, only that produced by the adrenal glands.

if your hormone levels were to change significantly in any direction, you would most likely lose hair as a result.

i think it's plain dumb if your aim is to lower T.... you will feel like crap and become less of a man.

it's been said a million times, young people have high T and hormone levels decline as we age.

having said that, i think it is possible to reduce T and other hormones by a safe amount by having a healthy lifestyle:
- light cardio every day
- drinking 1 cup of black tea / day
- minimizing sugar intake
- eating low GI / high protein foods

You'll be surprised with the benefits of simple cardio, and healthy diet. Exercising regulates hormone levels better than most medicine you could get.

Yes but since his test levels are probably correct anyway it would'nt make any difference, he wants to specificly lower to a unnaturaly low level than they should be them because he believes (wrongly) that it will be good for his hair. But the body regulates hormone levels for optimum health not for optimum hair.

Lowering your testosterone production won't help your hair since testosterone doesnt cause balding, its the DHT which it is converted into which causes male pattern baldness.

We already have proven methods of reducing DHT i.e propecia and dutasteride so why would you want to go the indirect route and lower test?

Even if you were successful in lowering your testosterone level there is no guarantee that your DHT level would be lowered by a similar amount, your body may compensate and increase production, we know this can happen as men on dutasteride have up to a 20% increase in testosterone levels.
