I was wondering if it was ok to use hair gel on the hair to make it look thicker because my hair is quite long. If it is, which hair gel should I go for (bearing in mind I am in the UK) and do I have to avoid getting it on the scalp. Also, do I have to wash the gel out in the eevning or is it ok to leave it on overnight? Thanks.

yes its ok to use hair gel. I would recommend washing it out overnight, especially if you use topicals which require that you have clean hair to use. As of which hair gel to use, you can use any. Gels generally don't cover up thinning hair.. Hair glues, waxes, putty's are better for 'clumping' up the hair to achieve better cosmetic coverage for thinning hair.
