is it difficult to cut proscar into fifths?

I have not purchased anything yet. I have the 1 mg prescription and did request the 5 mg from my Doctor. he said it would probably be too difficult to cut into fourths or fifths.

Also, for those that were on propecia before switching to generic, is at as effective?

The generic proscar tabs are very tiny, smaller than the 1mg propecia tabs if I recall correctly. So cutting into 1/5th would be extremely tough, although a lot of people cut them into 1/4th and it doesn't seem to be an issue..

As has been posted already, quarters are quite easy, fifths are really fiddly and I suspect impossible to get anywhere close to an exact dose.
