Is It Bad That I'm Storing My New Hairpieces In A Closet Just Like Clothes, Exposed To Air?

I've stored 2 new systems since autumn just loosely between clothes in a closet with doors closed outside of any plastic bag or box. So they're a little bit exposed to some air, but definitely no light. Noone living or going into that room, so not much air exchange either I would guess, if that could help. Could I have hurt their lifespan already? I did the first wash too right away to get rid of the potential factory silicone or some kind of chemical from the base.

It makes sense to store it in an air-tight plastic bag, to keep it from drying out. Also, next time, don't wash off the factory silicone, as it will help preserve it until you are ready to wear it.
