Found this in regards to the pure tech health report sharesmagazine.co.uk (I am new so it won't let me post the link, it is on that site however)

" Additional progress has also been made toward the initiation of the Follica RAIN pivotal study in androgenetic alopecia as well as the identification and testing of next-generation, proprietary compounds based on the Group's intellectual property. The Follica RAIN pivotal study is expected to commence in the first half of 2018, following the completion of an optimisation study that is expected to begin imminently. The Follica RAIN platform builds on new insights into cell signalling and leverages immune pathways activated during wound healing to create new hair follicles and hair in adult skin."

Aaaand bye bye Follica for 2018...

I could of swore I read on here that it was anticipated to have started trials Q1 2017 with data collection by Q4 2017, so I would think the same case in this regards with finishing up by Q4 2018, but I am just speculating.
how long should that trial last, is it known? one year?

False.
The trials were supposed to commence the second half of 2017, in the third quarter, to be exact.
And that is why Follica ain't mentioned at all in this report.

Cool I meant their original plans for starting the trial in 1st quarter 2017. Also if you use 'CTRL + F' then type follica in that link I posted I promise you will find follica referenced.

İf they start in the first half I don't think it will be finished before 2019.

Seems like Shiseido is still the only thing to look forward to in the "short term".

yeah, and that`s assuming that there won`t be further delays. also, "first half" can easily mean may. I wonder how long before shiseido bubble bursts too.

I m starting to think that, in the end, the cure will come unexpectedly, out of nowhere, from some study like that recent one with lactate. while those decade long scam ventures are doing their "trials" and "research" and tapping in complete ignorance of how Androgenetic Alopecia actually works.

That's not actually how things work in the Biomedical World.

First half could also mean end of June :)
10 years of research and 1-2 years ahead. God damn it they are f*****g slow and it ain't even a full cure.

are you literally incapable of reading between the lines and recognizing figures of speech or are you doing it on purpose? what is it, autism or plain old frustration-ridden trolling?

(if you trust the internet articles, breakthroughs are popping up on a daily basis, though )

that was my exact point, yeah.

because I can see "first half" turning into "first of january, at 06:00 AM" if desperate posters repeat it often enough. until it becomes a widely accepted fact. and then the same people will be massively dissapointed when it doesnt happen.

Doesn't matter what we say...everyone will get desperate or hyped anyway :) still quite depressing news, nothing good expected for 2018 now

Well an optimization study first then I guess. If its just an optimization study for dosages then they might actually do their phase 3 in 2018. Hopefully their optimization studies' results are sufficiently good enough to let the company justify a phase 3... That they are calling it an optimization study makes me hopeful they at least have the drugs they intend to use pinned down. Generally in mathematics when you optimize something you at least have your variables you will be manipulating pinned down.

This blows. Follica would let diffuse losers get a good bit of density back. :( Alas.

That's not actually how things work in the Biomedical World.

The problem with biology is we are all too complicated. Evolution is a shitty engineer hence the needless complexity. That being said compared to the the rate of advance in the 20th century, biology is advancing crazy fast at the moment, my guess is because we have the chemistry and physics pinned down to really start learning how the human body works. What the heck do I know though I'm just some idiot posting on the internet...

'There are two kinds of scientific progress: the methodical experimentation and categorization which gradually extend the boundaries of knowledge, and the revolutionary leap of genius which redefines and transcends those boundaries. Acknowledging our debt to the former, we yearn, nonetheless, for the latter.
