Is Finasteride The Right Choice For A Receding Hairline

Hi guys!

I actually bought Propecia for 6months, but I am really questioning weather to take it or not.

I am of the belief that Finasteride do NOT work if you are not suffering from male balding pattern. I also believe that a maturing hairline isn’t the same as male balding pattern. This is just the opinion I have formed when going through these forums, researching and experiences from friends.

My question therefore is if you guys think I have a matured hairline or if I have a receding hairline? I have linked some photos.

If I have a receding hairline, how can I treat it without Finasteride?

Finasteride will help you offset your timeline of when you would normally go bald without treatments. It's not a cure. The majority of this forum takes finasteride to try to hold on to as much hair as we can until something better comes along. The hairline seems to be more resistant to minoxidil and finasteride but both drugs do work on the hairline to some extent to help offset your true final Norwood destination. Think of these treatment like time machine that will change your balding pattern to happen later in life than earlier.

I don't really see a problem with your hair line or hair in general. I would leave the finasteride until or if you really need it.

One of his temples is definitely more receded so he is actually in the earliest stage. If he has a strong family history of balding, he might want to consider treatment.

Probably as case of him getting his mature hairline. He seems quiet young to be on finasteride, I am not really a fan on going on it too early as the male brain doesn't fully develop until the age of 25 and messing with hormones too early can cause depression/sexual sides. Maybe quarter of 1mg would maintain fine but as I said its poison to some people so risky.
