Is Finasteride really effective in Asian men?

I am 22 years old asian chinese, been taking Finasteride (Proscar 1,25mg) since 2 months ago for thinning hair. My father and my parental grandfather went bald (My cousins have alot of hairs), and I noticed thinning since 18 years old.

So question is I want to know can finasteride can really help prevent hair thinning and eventually regrow hair in asian men?? I've read somewhere saying Finasteride had been shown to be more effective in caucasian men and that is less effective in asian men.
I also use Regenepure DR Shampoo, which it contains a 1% of Ketoconazole.

Rogaine, however on the other hand, I am not ready to use that since I've heard it can ruin my hair day, and also I am saving my money for other important things.

So yeah without Rogaine, will both Finasteride and Ketoconazole really work against my asian thinning hair and grow it back thicker? Any helpful answers I will appreciate, thanks and happy holidays!

2 months is pretty early to evaluate how well it's working for you. Regarding Asian men, there's a recent Japanese study with sample size of 3000+ on finasteride efficacy over 36 months:

Evaluation of efficacy and safety of finasteride 1 mg in 3177 Japanese men with androgenetic alopecia

Personally, I took finasteride for 1 year before adding minoxidil. Give it some time to see how well you're responding to the drug.

Hmm speaking of japanese men, would it make a difference comparing to chinese men?

Are you asian too? What were your results from taking finasteride for 1 year? Any regrowth?

Two month is still early to worry about results. You should give it a least 6 month or even better 12 months to tell if you see any difference. Asian is still human and you have the same hormones as anybody else. There are only very individual differences in the efficacy of finasteride. My bet is that your hair will very soon improve.
