Is Finasteride Essential Long Term?

I've been reading the Success Stories forum and often, when someone has really good results, people tell him he should get on finasteride (if he isn't already) in order to retain the regrowth he'd achieved long term. That if he doesn't get on F, eventually he'll lose that regrowth.

Is that true? Is any regrowth you achieve just temporary if you don't get on F?

Yes. Because the reason one loses hair in make pattern baldness in the first place is due to the hormone dht shrinking the follicle until it dies. Finasteride mitigates the presence of that hormone.

One proviso. Some people might only need oral minoxidil in a fairly large dosage, or rather standard for high blood pressure, if their male pattern baldness isn't that strong. But that is a dangerous drug, and it's not recommended by most physicians. Perhaps only in small dosages, but then it wouldn't be enough to drop finasteride.

Finasteride is something you will need to take forever of you want to keep your hair.

I'm taking it until there is a miracle cure in the future that doesn't require a pill to regrow or keep hair
