ok... we're balding. we begin to realize that we're losing our hair.

our first thought is : DAMN, it's receding. We get a cold flush of adrelanin rush through our veins, in fear.

our second thought is, (immediately)- how do we fix this?

that's human nature- to be hit with a problem, and then to think how it can be solved- we always look for a way to solve a problem that is major in our lives

when it comes to hairloss, we realize there IS no solution- that if we want our hair back, we have to go to major proportions to 'maybe' get it back to 'some degree'... which is almost a hopeless hope...

so....

what then?

do we fold... put on a hat... agree that our hair is gone, that' we're destined to become bald? get upset about how the opposite sex will not even see us with a shiny head? get scared about how the sun will shine down on our heads, exposing our scalps? forget night clubs and bars, our thining heads will show though a soon as a light shines down on us?

it sucks. you see other bald guys, who shave their heads, and have no hair- and you think to yourself, 'man, that looks awful. that guy would be good looking with hair'.

and yeah, it's true.

ok. but so what. that is what life has dealt you so far.

what can you do? nothing. life has lead to this. now what?

BE A MAN.

i work with lots of guys who are losing their hair- big, 210-lb guys who are bald and under 30.... you can tell they hate it, but they come to work every day and face the planet- no hair, but they look good, because they know there is no other way in life- they deal with it, and make it through it. they have great jobs at my work, making BIG cash, have women, nice cars, houses, they have it 'all' . i know because i work with them and they're all normal ,nice guys who are no different from all you stupid whiners who cry about your locks every day.

these guys go on, day to day, month to month, year to year as normal a life as any. some 30+, some 20+. i know they are uncomfortable as i talk to them every day. but they are the coolest, nicest guys i know, so their baldness just doesnt matter- only until i come on here.

problem is, most of you guys are whiners and crybabies- i know how bad it is to lose your hair- it is a major, MAJOR blow to your esteem. but what do you do when the cards are down? for the young guys, its acceptable that they crumble- which apparently, they do. for the older guys, like Bruce and Grant- it just doesnt cut it- they're mature enough to understand life and how it goes- it's unnacceptable for them to do what they're doing, like endulging in hair medications and transplants- sure, celebrities of that age do it because they're always in the public- but for normal guys, it shows a lack of maturity and a denial in growing OLDER.

we as humans have to deal with what is dealt to us. most of the time, what is dealt to us can be altered- a fat stomach, ugly colour of hair, skinny physique, fat physique... it can all be fixed.

hair loss? nope, cannot be fixed- that's why it bothers us.

most people will deal with it, happy or not. they will go forward, realize that this is an area they cannot do anything about- that they will become a more personable person, in order to interact with the opposite sex- sure, maybe the girls will no longer recognize you in a bar, but they WILL recognize you when YOU talk to THEM and show who you are. your hairloss will be no more once they get to know you.

it's up to you guys- SERIOUSLY.

there are MILLIONS of guys losing their hair- all with internet. why are there only a few on here complaining about it? why? because most guys HATE losing their hair but DEAL WITH REALITY.

you guys just keep clinging to false hopes with this propecia nd minoxodil garbage that might save you a few years of hairloss. you are NOT comfortable with yourselves.

Who said that hairloss is tough? I love the fact I'm losing my hair.

Pouring stuff on my head to see if hair will grow is a fun hobby. Before I started losing my hair, I had nothing to do. I tried everything - flying kites, origami, riding a unicycle. And I was just no good at any of that stuff.

I've finally found my hobby:

Pouring crap on my head.

Love,
Jeremy

Another thing Bob. If you could somehow condense that whole message into a cute little smiley face holding a sign like HairFreak did, then your message would be about 100 times stronger.

Cheers.

Bob hairloss sucks, and if I have a choice about it I'll choose to correct it. I'm neither old or very young, and my love life hasn't been seriously effected by hair-loss either. So to say that everyone on this forum is a cry baby simply isn't true.

It's true when you read this so called studies about people's attitude to baldness, and how you won't blah-blah-blah won't suceed in life, and you won't blah-blah-blah ever run a country this that, and the other, is fairly much shite which should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Been able to talk to other people about this has been a plus for me, and when you're talking about younger guys, been able to get some facts about hair-loss helps them understand with the changes in their life, because remaining in ignorance isn't the way to go. To me anyway it's about making an informed decision, in which I think most people on this forum can do as they are adults.

Bob, you just MIGHT make some good points. I have no idea because I didn't read your post. I'm already reading two other books right now. So if someone has the time and reads Bob's post and wants to give me a book report, that would be just swell gentleman.

Cheers.

Uhm bob, did you know millions of blokes use Propecia/Proscar too? And that they have internet but dont go on hair loss sites? (Most likely because they have gained/kept all of their hair?!?!) So ho-ho to you!

Hey Bob, some of us simply want to keep the hair in our heads. Kind of like keep the muscles in our bodies and the brain cells in our brain.

That seems to me to be a reasonable set of asprirations. Beats being a mid east terrroist.

Seems like you have or had an issue with that?

Cutting all the bullshit, the situation is pretty simple:

I look good with a full head of hear, and sh*t without it

It's human nature to make the best of yourself, and that's exactly what I'm trying to do.

And I'll wank to that! (Apart from the swearing bits :p )

Bob I'm perfectly comfortable with my character. I love who I am as a person and I have thousands of friends who would tell you how much I rock their world.

Does that mean I would like myself less bald or I'd lose friends over it? No. But does that also mean I think losing my hair isn't traumatic because I dont feel attractive to others as much I used to? Absolutely.

My character isn't the issue at had, it's my loss of hair. Ask any bald man and they would say they'd want their hair back if were simple and cheap. I know you'd take the magical $5 cure yourself if it existed. So I dont think it's right to assume anyone on this board isn't comfortable about themselves. They're just uncomfortable about balding.... get over that.

Brucelee, this is ridiculous. Why can't I aspire to keep my hair AND be a terrorist???

You can ASPIRE to anything you want in life. You may not attain this lofty goal but hey, that is kinda the point of goals, right?
