Is Avodart Better for Your Liver than Propecia?

Hi everyone,

So I am interested in the effect of propecia (and avodart) on the liver. But it seems to me that propecia woud actually be WORSE for your liver than avodart.

Here's my thinking: 0.5mg of avodart will be less taxing on the liver than 1mg of propecia, since you ingest more propecia than avodart.

What do you think?

If your liver is healthy neither of them will cause any damage.

btw, your logic is terrible...just b/c one is .5mg and one is 1mg doesnt mean that the 1mg would be harder for your liver to process.

There are medications that are dosed at HUNDREDS of milligrams, by your logic these medication would DESTROY your liver... :wink:

i think they did liver toxicology tests which are standard for FDA approval and they found propecia did not harm the liver contrary to what people come in these forums spouting off. You cant ever trace a bad liver back to propecia it could be anything not just the propecia.

it would make sense to me that dutasteride is harsher on the liver between the 2 because it reduces type 1 dhit which is found in the liver. but both are normally fine on the liver.
