i have noticed when i scratch my scalp with a finger nail while washing, i see a white waxy, greasy staff under it.mainly more at top of the scalp than the back or side. what is it.
is any one else have noticed it. is it normal or it is just me. iam freaking out . :freaked2:

i feel like may be this is the cause of hair loss, since top part has more white waxy stuff than back and side.

Possibly sebum. This is, in part, why we use products like Nizoral.

Sounds like dead skin and oil. I get it all over my body if I do that with my nails, say, while in the sauna.

Yea that’s what I have. In fact I had it for long time but I never really cared about until recently. I was using Nizoral for last 2 months without any success. Does any one know, what is the best way to stop Sebum prodution?

Nizoral isn’t working for me, that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you either, so keep your hope high. I am going to try capex shampoo now, I heard its really good but u can’t use it for long as its too strong. Give capex a try if Nizoral doesn’t work for you.

By the way, your hair loss my be the result of too much build of sebum. Check this link:

My theory is that sebum is the trigger of premature alopecia. problems in sebum flow are the initial and reversible cause. Later there is another biological problems that agravate hair loss. The hairs in the back and side of the head are inmmunes with this problem because are in contact with a absorbent surface as the pillow when we sleep.
All scal hairs are sensible to common baldness, and more the hairs in harline and the crown of the head. The first ought to they are located in the far region of the "pillow", and the second because there are orientated at diferent angle and inclination avoiding the transversal flow of sebum among hairs.
Sebum is neccesary for a health hair, but sebum is easily oxidated and then came rancid and change physical, chemical and biologically properties. Sebum have a generation and a extraction system.

I am just wondering if one lose his hair because of sebum build up for years, is it possible to get those(or some of those) hair back?. By the way, my side and back are as thin as my top. I have cut my hair very short and I can see it very clearly, its exact same level of thinning.
