Been taking OTC meds for some time now and been reading lots about propecia/fina and want to start taking it. Should I consult a Doctor before starting it? Would it be wise to start taking it without a doctors approval? Thanks.

do you have male pattern baldness?

are you old enough to start using hormone effecting drugs?

IMO i would see a doctor (dermatologist preferred) before considering using finasteride

You will get a million answers about this since it is a personal decision. My take
is that if you ask your Doctor about it, he's going to prescribe it, knowing little if
anything about your medical history, and do little if any followup on you.

So what is the difference if you buy it on the internet?

For a large number of drugs having physicians be the gatekeepers is
ridiculous and Propecia is one of those drugs.

i think getting blood work done in the beginning and 6 months in can be very helpful

especially when you are younger

take obsidian's story for example

8 months in he was experiencing symptoms of reflex-hypoandro thingy

if he had taken blood work in the beginning he would have something to compare his levels to now

i think getting your levels checked and perhaps the hairdx test is a good idea because hair loss treatments are a lifelong commitment
and wouldn't it be nice to be positive about you male pattern baldness diagnosis instead of self diagnosing

just a suggestion

cheers mate
