Is a good idea start with finasteride only, give it a try and then in a second time start minoxidil too?

Hi,

I would like to know if is a good idea to start with finasteride only and then integrate with minoxidil after 8-12 months.

Because i would like to know if finasteride only can improve a little bit my hair.

Or finasteride only is a waste of time?

I ask because i have read that finasteride is not very useful without minoxidil...
Often people tell me that finasteride can only slowing but no improvement at all.
And the only thing that give improvement is minoxidil.

But online i have see people that had improvement only with finasteride so i don't know to think. When i tell this, other people tell me that improvement with finasteride only is very rare.
My situation is not so bad, i have a lot of long hair but in the back (cow lick zone) and vertex i see more scalp than before and i need a little bit more coverage.

I have a slow Androgenetic Alopecia.
In the past i have used for 2 years fina+minoxidil with great result, after 2 years i stopped finasteride and continued with only minoxidil and i maintened the results very well.

After 7 years i stop minoxidil too (i had 'other things to think in that difficult period of my life) and i slowly have hair thinning (but maybe more slowing that i thougt..without cures my hair are no good as before but not so bad considering i haven't cured them in the last 5 years..).

For sure minoxidil was useful for me, but i was curious to know if finasteride only can improve me..because my current situation is not too bad. If my hair return thicker in the crown/vertex area i can consider me good as before.

Now i'm using oral finasteride from february 2021. I used topical finasteride (at low dosage, 0,015%) for 4 months before to start oral (october 2020 - january 2021).
I swap to oral because i would like to know how can do finasteride at his best on my scalp and if it 'worth it'.

I'm also using a topical solution with triaminodil 5%,(like 'nanoxidil') from november 2020 (i know that is not effective as minoxidil but i would like to give it a try too..but my only 'real' cure certificated now for Androgenetic Alopecia is finasteride).

If i will do not any improvement probably i will return to topical low dosage finasteride and will add minoxidil too.
Probably the DHT incidence is not very strong in my hair because my Androgenetic Alopecia progression is very slow.

This is my situation..should i start immediatly minoxidil? Should i wait?
