Interpreting Propecia's "Months" Delay

I read that it can take months to work, but that could mean one of two things:

1. From the point I begin taking Propecia, nothing happens at first. Hair falls out for months and then the shedding process freezes once the Propecia kicks in. In this case, I can expect to most likely lose months worth of hair, but then it won't keep getting worse after that point.

2. I can expect to most likely maintain the hair I have at the time I ingest the first pill. However, I can expect months of losing hair will pass. Then, once the Propecia kicks in, it will calibrate my hair count back to what it was when I ingested the first tablet at the beginning.

Propecia works by lowering DHT levels. So if DHT is the primary cause of hair loss in the individual it starts working right away. The "months" they are talking about is for regrowth, which most receive some form of regrowth within 6 months (It can be substantial in rare cases, but is usually just moderate)
