Probably old news for some, but I was reading GSK's finasteride vs. dutasteride study data from 2014.
In it, they had a panel of three blinded dermatologists rate the apparent hair growth in the study participants. In 56% of patients on 0.5mg dutasteride and 64% of those on 1mg finasteride, they were not able to see an improvement after six months of use. Of course, this also means that the participants' condition didn't worsen, which many of them would have without intervention, but still . . . I guess I would have expected better results.
Maybe the goal with these drugs really is just to "maintain" rather than regrow.
