"It is known that when ketoconazole is ingested orally, it inhibits the binding of androgens to receptors in the body and this would include the binding of DHT to hair-follicle receptors."

Nizoral IS ketaconazole. To my knowledge this drug is only available in shampoo and cream form, for rashes. I've never heard of an orally ingested version, I would think it would be dangerous to ingest and highly recommend against it. But talk to a doctor. Because I'm just a dude.

Ketaconazole can be taken orally (in its proper form - don't drink the damn shampoo)!!

It is a widely prescribed anti-fungal drug. By ingesting Ketaconazole, however, you bear the risks of systemic effects, rather than merely its topical application with Nizoral.

Stick with the shampoo.
