First I’ll thank anyone in advance for their feedback. I’m at nearly the 2.5 year mark after having hair transplant by Robot. My problem is that I suffered from extensive ingrown hairs mainly in the recipient area but but also some at donor. Now the answer I received several times from both doctors is that you never know if someone is going to get them or not. The most severe ingrown hair areas at mainly the recipient area have never gone away. Now I saw them at 3, 6 and 12 months after. Same answer. I had always planned to do multiple hair transplants so I also made appt to talk about #2 but cancelled because my ingrown hairs were blowing up so much I thought I might be contagious. Three dermatologists later and I maybe seeing/hoping a slow cure is closer. So 12k (plus 3k for a laser cap) and I wear a hat now more than ever before (always outside). These ingrown hair sites have become more like holes that never fully heal. I stopped the Avodart and the Rogaine just in case. I keep my hair shorter than ever just in case. I had custom face gear/helmet made for work just in case. Clean, clean, clean. Now I had a few good weeks where hair seemed to be coming in and looked natural but ingrown hairs always seemed to reoccur almost cyclically. Other than that I’ve had to use tinted sunblock in cases of say wedding photos or wear a hat period. The ingrown hair sites have really become open wounds that refuse to heal and the top of my head is starting to look like UFOs landing in cornfields. WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE? I liked the doctors involved but I’m starting to think they had a hand in this. This all started after them. I can’t help but notice a forever redness running across the whole recipient area. I also can’t help but notice that my worst ingrown hair (wound) sites are almost asymmetrical when comparing left and right fronts of my scalp. I could go on with this post but I’ll try a couple pics and hope someone out there may have a useable clue!
