Increased testosterone affecting propecia?

Here's another interesting thing I've experienced recently. So As I said in my other post, I have been on Propecia/Finasteride for about 8 years. I started taking an amino acid supplement about 5 months ago, sometime in July. Starting in September I started to develop a bald spot in my crown and my hair appeared to be getting thinner. I recently went for my annual check up and had blood taken. My Doctor calls me a week later and tells me that everything came back great but my testosterone was very high at 905. Average levels of testosterone in a 33 year old male is between 300 and 600 which is the range I was in last year during my last blood test. I told him about the amino acid supplement and he said that BCAA's are linked to increased testosterone levels and I should stop taking it as prolonged high levels of testosterone can become a health issue. Is it possible that the increase in testosterone led to an increase in DHT at a level that was just too much for the Propecia/Finasteride to handle and therefore led to a regression of results? If so, when my levels return to normal do you guys think I will regain the hair I lost? Your thought would be appreciated.

Well if the hair loss is recent then I would think you would still have follicles.....if the doctor told you that then it makes sense. What amino acid are you on?

Monster Amino. It is a BCAA (Branch Chain Amino Acid) supplement. The main amino acids are Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. After he told me that, I Googled it and it appears to be true. I stopped taking the supplement a few days ago
