I only had a shed from OM long ago but never from dutasteride. While on dutasteride my normal hairfall on comb/shower reduced by alot instead. Even a guy on reddit used the same generic dutasteride that I used and his hair got thick as f*** from it and had regrowth. Bro we need to accept that dutasteride generic or not wont work for us. Im doing finasteride now instead because it dont raise as much T as dutasteride. Also on oral minoxidil ofc. Im losingbattle88 btw.

If I see no improvement after 6 months from switching to brand name Avodart, then I will slowly switch back to finasteride 1mg. I’ll also consider adding topical finasteride as the literature shows it blocks around 70% scalp DHT.
I use oral. Havent been on my regimen long little over 2 weeks. Never stayed on finasteride long enough due to side effects but giving it a last chance by using it less often. On OM too daily.
Ur wasting time and hair by thinking brand name will be better than generic. Both generic and brand blocks dht. You think brand will block a little more? Haha. I have tried propecia. And generic dutasteride generic finasteride. All of them gave me the exact same side effects. No difference.
I was on 6mg of dutasteride a week. Totally useless.
But if u dont suffer sides go ahead. For me I had sexuall sides same as finasteride and no hair benefit only destruction of hair.

Neither. All the literature points to more DHT suppression = better hair outcomes. But clearly not for everyone. Did you switch back to finasteride? What was your experience?
My crown got nuked fast on dutasteride especially my crown. But hair all over got flatter and thinner less volume and felt thinner. I was desperate as you. I increased my dutasteride dose and even started applying it topically too. I hate myself for not giving up earlier. My hair has been much much better off dutasteride. Even with zero treatments for many months. The sped up thinning from dutasteride stopped once I quit the dutasteride. My crown hair has not thinned out further ever since quitting dutasteride 3-4 years ago.
I was on finasteride doing fine, then got hair greedy and tried dutasteride. It caused thinning. Even despite taking 10mg OM at that time. Switched back to finasteride and it regrew back to where it was before, even after also reducing OM dose.
