Lets say for a moment that my body is having an immune response to finasteride/dutasteride and various topicals... would i be screwed?

For a while now i been using certain topicals like minoxidil and i find that one of the side effects i get is the sensation of arthritis in my left wrist, and in the past i have had it in my knee also... but they go when i stop taking the topical im using. so i have never been able to figure out why that is, but today im reading about overactive immune system and how it can react to changes in your body and arthritis does seem to be a side effect of that. and it would also explain alot about my response to Finasteride and Dutasteride in general with the induced itch.

Lets say for a moment that this could be the case... is there anything i could do?

Everyone should be concerned about chronic, long term, low grade inflammation because effects accumulate over time and once damage is done it can be mostly irreversible. For you, I wouldn't be too concerned at this point but definitely evaluate your diet to be sure it is anti-inflammatory. For mild symptoms as you describe, take an nsaid, like ibuprofen when you need it. You can also take anti-inflammation supplements like curcumin, Omega3 oils, olive oil. Also, go see your doctor and get a general health check up and mention your concerns. Maybe he will order blood tests to see how things are functioning systemically.
