Hi. I dont have a receasing hair line or baldness. Usually when i wash my hair i only see less than 6 hairs (yes i have counted them) and in my pillow usually no more than 3-4, so i dont have any shedding problem right now. My problem is tha ti have very thin hair, is not that noticeable but i want it to look better and more dense. My worry is aobut the shedding. Is it noticeable? I really dont want people to notice it

If you just have thin hair and have no signs of balding there is little point in using minoxidil, some people naturally just have thin hair, try some volume boosting shampoos and conditioners like viviscal first.

I went on Minoxidil 12 months ago 5% twice a day and I got a solid shed in the beginning. I am a diffuse thinner with thinning all over crown. I have probably lost 50% density and thought I needed to try something. Minoxidil made my hair shed after 1 month use and the shedding stopped after 2 or 3 months. It was troublesome at the time, I used cotton hair fibres to disguise at the time and it gave me confidence during the day. Now the minoxidil is really working and the hair has become denser, better than before I started. You have to persist with it, I’ve just started on Finasteride 1mg per day. I will probably see further shed but it’s all good when you have the fibres to see you through.
