I'm Going To Cut My Long Hair Short To See

I have been sporting a long hair for some time now. Most people think i look better with short hair - at least they thought so before balding hit me and i was a fullhead- except for my girlfriend who thinks my long curly blond hair is really cute.

The issue is, i am balding. Although it is not apparent at first glance as i have a relatively good hairline, if you look closely you can see that something is off with the density. I haven't had short hair since i started balding so i have no idea how it will look.

One of the worst thing about balding with long hair is the summer season. I try to avoid pools and beaches because my wet hair looks terrible. Now that i've planned a vacation with my gf, swimming is unavoidable. I'm thinking if i cut it short i might deal with it.

What do you think? Have you ever shaved it off to see?

Pics. Also short hair will almost always make diffuse thinning less noticeable. Don't need to shave it off, just cut it shorter.

Not a great pic, but looks like your thinning in the front (possibly, hard to tell). I would just get it cut shorter. 1-2 inch length would look better.

Also always shorter on sides, longer on top. Makes the hair look thicker.

Frontal thinning is obvious on one side. Frontal hair strands are ligther and look wispy. I will cut it short, it will be easier for applying microneedling+minoxidil. I also started finasteride recently, it will be easier to see any changes.
