I started noticing my hair loss about 1.5-2 years ago.
I was a broke college student without health insurance back then and couldn't afford any treatment.

Anyway...
About 1.5 weeks ago, I went to dermatologist and was told I have male pattern baldness.
I was prescribed propecia 1mg and minoxidil.

I'm a bit scared of propecia but have decided to give it a shot.
Might as well, right?

Question: Do y'all recommend starting with .5mg first then 1mg after a few weeks?
Also, is minoxidil also a MUST or is propecia by itself enough?

finasteride should be fine enough. Ya go .5 mg or even .25 mg for the first two weeks then go full dose. Your call. I would just go finasteride only and see results from there as the results will be permanent whereas minoxidil may give you false expectations as you go in and out of sheds.

Thanks!
Will pick up the propecia tomorrow. A bit nervous...not gonna lie.
May start with .5mg and see if I experience any sides..

Hopefully u get no sides. I was on it for a month and quit. Libido was dead and couldn't get it up. Also discomfort in my right breast. Told it was a symptom of gyno. Just doesnt seem like a good idea to mess around with your hormones. Hope u don't experience anything significant bad.

Did your body go back to normal after quitting propecia?

just remember:

1. if you convince yourself you'll get sides with Propecia, you probably will. Don't scare yourself stupid like 'Medilook' did, by obsessively fretting over side effects and then 'experiencing' them. You can't measure something like libido, and most of it's psychological anyway.

2. side effects are more common when you first start taking it and usually go away when your body adjusts

My erections are comin back I guess but my lividio is still low. I don't even have the urge to masturbate Nymore. I got 2 force myself to do it now. It kinda suxs honestly. I'm gonna go to a dr next week and talk to him about it. I would say if hairloss is bothering u that much go ahead and give it a shot.

Guys, not gonna lie. I got scared about starting propecia. But I just took a picture of the top of my head
and definitely changed my mind right away. I' will be purchasing it today after work.

Will start with .5 and see how it goes. Should I also add Nizoral to the regime?

Thanks!!!

It won't hurt, trying Nizoral two to three times a week. Good luck!
