After over five years of worrying about hair loss and threating over my future I am now beginning to embrace how my hair is and how I look.
A lot of its to do with getting older and progressing into my thirties. I always felt balding in any form looks quite odd for a twenty something man. Being a nw3 in your 30s isn't really anything to be ashamed of. Men like Henry Cavil and Roger Federer all have compromised hairlines and yet nobody really gives a damn.
Another element of coming to embrace my situation is that the medication I am taking seem to be working and while I haven't regained my hair on my temples I have gained a little amount of density on top. Now I just looked moderately receded and when my hair is grown out - which it is right now - the scalp is not visible unless either under a brutal, artificial light or when soaking wet.
One more factor when it comes to looks is who I compare myself too. Its idiotic to compare myself to Hollywood superstars. Now I look at men my age and judge how I am in terms of looks. Hell, just by being slim in your 30s puts you in a 40% minority.
Just by being slim, nw3, dressing well, and groomed can put you in the top 20% of men when you are over 30.
And to clarify - this post isn't really aimed at advanced balding men - but rather I hope that for you folks who have your hair loss under control that we need to relax about how we view and how we measure ourselves. When we stop comparing ourselves to the top 1% and begin to compare ourselves to everyday, normal people then we begin to facilitate a much healthier concept of self.
