dont know if anyone remembers i was worried as hell because i got some white marks in my face and thought it was vitiligo , i couldv give 2 shits about my hair my skin prob concerns me more , anyways i went to more then 3 derms and a lot of doctors and strangly they cant tell what it is but i did some scraping test which i will see in a few weeks however all of them ruled out vitiligo after tests they done ( THANK GOD)

soooooo now im feeling a lot better im back to my hairloss probs , i been on finasteride for 4 months and 2 weeks now and it hasnt thickend up NOTHING , im still gonna give it time however i dont know how it can maintain because when i was loosing hair before finasteride , i wasnt actually loosing hair i was just thinning , so i never really had a lot of hairs fall out , wonder if i should add minoxidil?

are those white spots getting better?

glad to see your back
but you really were never "gone from this site"

minoxidil wouldn't hurt your situation

even minoxidil to maintain would be a good idea at this point

cheers

and glad to see your back

Hey King, wait with the minoxidil for just a little bit longer, till at least 6 months on finasteride.

I waited little over a year with the minoxidil, cuz I wanted to know what finasteride did for me exactly.

Now I regret I didnt start after 6 months on finasteride.

Good chance you will thicken up, so give it a try in the near future!

Good luck with your skin.

hows your thyroid levels??

Thyroid disorder can cause white patches on the skin. They are more inclined to be from childhood with thyroid problems but can develop in later life. I have few on my body. I can see them when i tan.

you know my doctor is an idiot , i just did a blood test last month and my thyroid was ok although he mentioned to me that my blood test from april of last month my thyroid was fucked but it seem to be ok now , he just tells me this now !

so i wouldnt rule out thyroid prob , ill go for another blood test somewhere tmrw

Get your bloods done again to make sure.

Hormonal dysfunction does have an effect on hair loss. The problem of hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism is that both encourage the conversion process of testosterone into DHT which accelerates hair loss in men and women. So basically it can give the effect of thinning you maybe would only have encountered through age and later life OR if you have male pattern baldness aswell it obviously doesnt help the matter..it speeds it up.

A big symptom is losing the outer third of the eyebrows. This happened to me but i have regrown them thankfully. Other symptoms are the usual ones such as lethargy, tiredness, ancxiety etc etc. One though not so many know about but what i had badly was carpel tunnel syndrome. Basically a pins and needles effect in the hand...mainly felt during the morning when first waking.

I myself am on levothyroxine. I have to say my latest dosage on meds has made me feel alot better. Finally i can feel active during the day and sleep well at night!! I think my thyroid has maybe contributed to my hair loss but its early days to say that. Im pretty sure i have slow male pattern baldness aswell.

Typically thyroid thinning is situated in the frontal third. Howveer it may be diffuse everywhere or a patch. A lottery so to speak. In terms of guys the condition is very rare so theirs not much in the case of photos. But heres a photo i found showing hairloss in a kid due to hypothyroidism showing the nape of the neck.
