I have history of abusing illegal drugs in the past.
As i grew older, I stopped using them, but the urge shifted to alcohol.
damn, I don't know how i became an alcoholic, but I am one right now.

4rx.com (or something called similar) stated that people should avoid drinking while taking dutasteride as there are risks of interaction between the dutasteride and alcohol. is this true? if so, what would the interaction be like? does anyone drink everyday while taking duta with no bad effect?

i would have to say and i'm no doctor but i do know finasteride can cause liver damage in some people so perhaps dutasteride is the same story? because i cant imagine drinking on finasteride is a good thing so perhaps get some blood tests to see if your liver is functioning properly?

Surely people still drink alcohol on finasteride and shouldn't have much of a problem, in moderation

they are different drugs but with similiar effects right? so tho i'm not a doctor i would assume they both have potential to harm ones liver... as with most pills taken especially when alcohol is added so i would drink in moderation if anything.... maybe quit drinking and start smoking lol... u can live without a lung but not without a liver~!

PS. check the RX bottle, they usually place warnings if it's a real risk although my finasteride bottle doesnt say anything atm.... the instructions do seem to vary between pharmacies and my Doctor did actually tell me finasteride can harm the liver. but who knows right? drinking is terrible for u drugs or no drugs so...just :smoke:
when stressed!

Personally I'm surprised as an alcoholic you are losing hair. Excessive drinking daily vastly decreases testosterone therefore decreasing DHT. Maybe you should up the drinking. (Joking)

I take dutasteride and I researched thoroughly didn't seem to find any warning or precautions about drinking on the drug. I personally drink heavily 2 times a week, sometimes three been a student.

Just quit drinking. It will be extremely stressful and painful for about a year or so. You'll probably need an anti depressant and something to help with sleep (nothing that gets you high). You can start living a life that you don't have to be embaressed about.

haha I also smoke too. yeah, quitting ANY kind of drugs, including alcohol, weed, and cig, is hard. very hard. sh*t, even quitting minoxidil is hard because of the fear that i'm gonna face a massive shed in the near future.

anyways, I want to note that i am still drinking heavily.. i know i should be ashamed for being such a weak minded individual. still smoke weed and cig...

oh sh*t, i just saw three thick hairs fell on the desk..depressing... and for that, i need another shot of black. :shakehead:

Drinking alcohol moderately is not bad and in fact it is proven to be good to the health. However, too much consumption of alcohol can lead to different health problems like liver problem and also hair loss problem. Hair loss due to alcohol is sometimes referred as alcohol hair loss. The reason behind alcohol hair loss is that alcohol increases the estrogen levels while decreases the zinc level in the body. Alcohol also lowers vitamin B, vitamin C and folic acid level in our body. These are important for the health of our hair because they keep the hair healthy and strong. ( just compyed that off the web somewhere btw :p)

I belive i've read on this forum somewhere that too much alcohol can be inflammatory, wich lead to increased hairloss. It can also stress the body leading to more hairloss
