I'm a Norwood 2: Should I Try Revivogen before Propecia?

From reading around on here, I've seen a few guys say that success with Revivogen is more attainable if a dude's hairloss is a 2 on the Norwood Scale; I'd say that's about where mine is (hairline has been receding since last fall). But I haven't really seen many success stories actually posted about Revivogen, so I'm nervous to take it before Propecia, even if there's no chance for side effects with Revivogen.

If you want to go an FDA approved route, then it's all about the Propecia/finasteride. That's about the best way to do it. I wouldn't mess around and hope that Revivogen does the trick...but that's just me.

I'm trying Revivogen now as I'm probably in the same situation. I don't like the idea of my privates not working properly or growing moobs!

Well how's it working for you so far? How long have you been taking it?

...only 2 days so far, and it's all grown back!

OK so I can't really comment yet. There is another thread that has a few guys that have been going for longer. Generally I think most people on the site seem to just want to get straight onto the finasteride. I've been slowly losing mine for a while so I'm ok at this stage to try a less full on routine.

I started on Revivogen about a week ago. Obviously it will take some time to see if it works but I'm willing to wait and see. I was also worried about the side effects of finasteride. I am using minoxidil in the mornings and the Revivogen in the evenings.

Have been using revivogen over 6months. Based on my experience, this product can really help people who're on NW2~2.5.
Never had any side with revivogen, but I got ED with propecia..

IMO, It works more effectively when used in conjunction with S5 and minoxidil..

Perhaps it's less about where you are on the scale, as to how quickly you got there.

There are better documented results with propecia, personally i'd try that first, chances are you won't get side effects and it will be effective.

I think revivogen could be a good choice if you get sides but responded well to the propecia, even then i'd "double bag" it with some topical spironolactone.

Just an opinion tho'

For minor hairloss i would say yes. For advanced hairloss you need somnething with more kick like duta or finasteride. From reading various posts on revivogen you can be sure its not complete bull but it dont work for everyone. Give it a try finasteride should be a last resort in my opinion.

i agree with sirchugalot, being a NW2 doesnt necessarily mean anything- for all we knpw you were a NW1 this time last year. anyway, with that said, i used revivogen for a month and then dumped it. why? partly out of my OCD tendencies when it comes to treating hair loss (i worried that the zinc in rev would interfere with minoxidil, ive since come to believe that i was in fact just being over-paranoid) but also cuz i realized that since my hair loss is obviously aggressive (diffuse NW2.5 @ 23 years) i dont have time to mess around, so i got on finasteride (been nearly 11 weeks now)

however, in that month of revivogen use, i gotta say i liked it. it took care of my male pattern baldness scalp itch for the most part, and just made my scalp feel gooood (one of the most soothing topicals ive ever used)

so anyway, if you think you have mild male pattern baldness, then why not give it a shot? again i agree with sirchugalot though, that you should probably incorporate some spironolactone into your routine (perhaps at the opposite end of the day, just to always have something working against the androgens)

also look up the "New Revivogen Formula" and Revivogen challenge or something or other thread around here, drhouse and browny say it seems to be helping...

good luck any which way

Other then possible sides for me money is always a major factor because I am not rich. Considering all treatments are for a lifetime if they help your talking a huge amount of money for revivogen which is unproven so its too much of a risk for that price in my opinion. Proscar generic at wal mart is 10 dollars and then you cut each pill into 4 pieces that is an amazingly good deal compared to overpriced revivogen in my opinion but I guess a lot of people dont like to think.

Well I can't speak for everyone using Revivogen, but I'd rather spend more and have much less risk that my dick won't work properly.
