I am guessing you are talking about finasteride, which is barely an effective drug in the long-term. If you are balding significantly similar to me, 5AR inhibitors will not do much at all and its 'effectiveness' will die out prematurely. After a long period of time researching about hair loss medications, you realise how weak finasteride truly is...
An orchiectomy is the only legitimate cure to hair loss, in which most will never experience hair loss again unless they have a bothersome sensitivity to androgens (some people will still manage to lose hair even with such a drastic decrease in androgens, although this would be such a rare situation since males generally don't have such a significant sensitivity to androgens).

I don't think it's too far; I think it's reasonable if you value hair. After dealing with hair loss, I have realised how much hair means to me and it has helped me to appreciate it more... Personally, my testicles will be pretty much fried from estrogen nonetheless; an orchiectomy will just save me from ever needing to use an anti-androgen... It sounds crazy, but I am crazy and I would rather commit suicide than be bald!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you would rather commit a suicide, it sounds like a dangerous obsession. Also without testicles you can't have a gf, because you can't have sex. Hairpiece or a hair transplant would be a better idea, if you absolutely don't want to lose your hair, or use drugs for it.

I would NOT want anyone to follow the same path as me! I just stated that Baldcafe makes me more confident in my decision to get an orchiectomy in the future... I was recommending this person finasteride and minoxidil, if you look at the first page.
OP, NW5/6 at 18 is too far for any drug or treatment. BUT, don't despair, hair systems are extremely good these days. Or just embrace it and shave everything, black men tend to look good bald.

Your an exception and not the only one, but you have a mental illness so it's understandable... And it's better for you getting an orchiectomy because you won't spread that mental illness further, so good decision !
