Hey, I'm 23 years old. I think I'm starting to bald and I'm kinda freaking out.

So, my hair is usually rather thick, and for several years I kept it pretty short. I never noticed anything odd with my hair line or my crown. Recently, I decided I was bored with my short hair and decided to grow it out. It's been 6 months since I had a hair cut and MAN am I noticing something that looks like balding. Other people are too. But one friend who noticed said it only looks bald because I'm growing my hair out and the follicles are being pulled or something.

It's my crown mostly. I noticed my hair line has been looking odd but I thought it was because of the haircuts I was getting. Still, my hair line seems fine to me. It's the top of my head that is freaking me out. It looks bad. But I thought baldness starts with the hair line and then the crown. And my crown hair thinning doesn't look circular like I've seen in articles and such. I've attached pictures.

The pictures that look worse are pre-shower, and at the time of taking the worse picture, I was un-showered for 3 days (I'm a college student, sometimes showering takes a backseat to studying and drinking). I actually don't shower as much as one should if I'm being honest (usually twice a week). And the less bad pictures are post-shower.

I have an uncle that is bald. From my mom's side. Another uncle from my mom's side who looks like he's balding too.

Am I going bald? Is it because I'm growing my hair out and my follicles are being pulled like my friend said? Should I just shower more? HELP.

The picture that you have uploaded here is showing that you have severe hair loss problem and you are going bald. This is true. There are many reasons behind going bald and these depend on your diet, lifestyle, genetic disorders, ancestor problem. So, do few things. First of all stop smoking, drinking and any kind of drugs if you are taking it. After that, you should also follow a balanced diet, healthy living, and a stress less life. This will definitely help you, but if you do not get any relief then consulting a hair restoration expert would not be a bad decision.

hairloss is genetic. You could be the healthiest person alive but if you are predisposed to hairloss it will happen. Many times hairloss starts at the crown. Some people keep a perfect hairline with huge *** baldspots or some people recede and experience no thinning at the crown whatsoever. Hairloss comes in many forms which is why its such a b**ch...it is unpredictable as f***.

If you got on finasteride you could get ur hair back at this point, but given the agressive nature of your hairloss you probably need to act fast.
