I’m 22 and have been dealing with hair loss since 18. I’ve tried finasteride for a year and stopped due to side effects. I was wondering if it’s time to do fue?

I wouldn't recommend a hair transplant at all if you can't tolerate propecia.

You have to first slow down your hair loss with propecia before doing the step to a hair transplant.

you cant get a Hair transplant without Finasteride. You will still keep losing your hair without it and all you will have left on your head is those transplanted hairs. It will not look good when it gets to that point.

Dude it's time to bring out the clippers and buzz your head. Get on treatments and re-evaluate after a year, then consult a reputable transplant surgeon and see what can be done.
