I’m 19, Do I Already Have Balding Around My Crown?

Hi I’m 19, and I’ve always been worried about balding. Growing up and throughout highschool people have always talked about how thick my hair is, but now I’m positive I’ve noticed balding around my crown. It should be noted that I do have a double crown, and it does sometimes look funny there, but inspite of that it does look to me like I am balding. So I’m new to this, what do I do to try and slow down my balding or maybe even stop the process? Will I eventually go completely bald? Please let me know, and tell me what you think.

Thanks, Evan

No one can tell from one pic. And NO ONE can tell you if you are going to be completely bald. There's family history to consider, etc.
No one can tell from one pic if it looked like this 2 years ago...
It does look like you are thinning at the crown considering how thick everything else looks.

However, catching things early is key, AND being 19 you could possibly start the big 3.

My advice is to keep taking pics.
Start half a finasteride pill a day.
Start applying minoxidil once a day.

I agree with the above except I would not jump onto treatments until you confirm. If you see the area getting worse or the hair line/temples start to move back more then I would start with treatments. If you are very concerned you could just use Minoxidil--I had definite top thinning at 19 and used Minoxidil for 6 months and was fine for 10yrs...now I am back to using that and Finasteride.
