I’m 16. My brother claims I’m going bald. And to be honest my hairline looks significantly worse than everybody at school.

My moms dad had a widows peak and my brother was born with one too. But I wasn’t. But it looks like I’m developing one (I don’t think that’s possible lol)

It's a joke that came from Call of Duty when you walk up to a coffin and have to "Press F to pay Respects". I'm going to assume that he replied with that because of your age and where your hairline is. Also don't compare your hairline to other peoples to see if you have receded, some people have naturally lower or higher hairlines even with no loss. You're right in that you can't really develop the widows peak you're thinking of, the triangle that hangs down lower than the rest of your hairline. A lot of people call receded temples widows peaks too, but you can get what you're thinking of if your temples recede.

If you could answer these questions I think it would help a lot of other people give more definite answers. Do you feel like it has receded and changed, and have you noticed an large increase in hair leaving your head? What's your families history of hair loss like? Is your crown thin or thick?

The first two pictures had me guessing but the third one seems to tell the story. It seems like you're almost at a NW2, but you can see the miniaturization along your hairline on your right temple. It would help if you posted a picture of what your hairline looks like from above so that we can see how far it has recessed. I've seen people on this forum determine a NW2 by if the hairline in your temples has receded past your sideburns. I'm classified as a still maturing hairline right now from most people on here but your forelock is doing the same thing mine is, in terms of the faux widows peak and the thick area right behind it. Take this with a grain of salt but I think you might be starting to bald and at 16 that sucks. Unfortunately you are way too young to really take finasteride which really only leaves you with minoxidil, nizoral shampoo, derma rolling and maybe some other basic things. Obviously get other opinions as this is just mine, but take pictures in 6 months and compare them and see how much worse or if its stayed the same. It seems like the general consensus here is that after 18 take it, but some people say wait for your early twenties when you are "completely finished" developing using DHT.

The other possibility is that this is just your hairline maturing, the only reason that I have some doubt is that you don't really have rounded temples, it seems thick all the way back.
